Reducing Carbon Emissions

Utilising the RSL standard extruded slat profile increases the insulation characteristic of the window area by some 33%. Accordingly if double glazing is used in combination with the RSL slat one effectively achieves triple glazing standard. We calculate that the effect would be to obtain 1.00 W/m2oC U value.
Perforated Slats If the RSL standard extruded slat profile with insulation core is utilised the performance is increased to 0.85 W/m2oC U value. Accordingly if the glazing is some one third of the total wall area and the wall is well insulated the overall wall performance should achieve 0.65 W/m2oC or below. |

Perforated Slats To increase the thermal performance still further and
to ensure full compliance with the Part L Building Regulations
introduced in 2006 we also provide a high performance foil backed
insulation sheet to the inside face of the backing plate and on the
shutter tray thus ensuring a continuous thermal “wall” around the
lintel when built in. |
